A rare painting by Fillia (Luigi Colombo, 1904-1936) is going to be auctioned in Paris on January 22 at Jorom-Derem Auction House.
Part of the second generation of Futurism, Fillia was a painter, writer, activist and editor who devoted his life to the advancement of the Futurist's flag reasserting the importance of personal identity and spiritual experience. This work has always been part of a French private collection, and comes on the auction market for the first time.
Very ahead of his time, Fillia expressed interest in issues of gender, sexuality and body which he transformed through the filters of metaphysical mysticism and semi-abstraction.
